President Veita Jackson-Carter

Greetings!

Welcome to the official website for the Gainesville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.  It is my privilege to serve as the 14th President. Our chapter is one of 211 chapters in the Dynamic Southern Region, the largest region in Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. The Gainesville Alumnae Chapter was chartered in 1985, by 40 phenomenal women. This year marks 38 years of Delta Excellence! WE share a common bond in Service, Scholarship, Sisterhood, and Social Action.

Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. is a private, non-profit organization founded by 22 African American women on the campus of Howard University in 1913.  Since our founding, Delta has grown to 350,000 initiated women, and over 1,000 chapters worldwide. We are dedicated to public service in the communities of Alachua and Columbia. Our projects and programs are aligned with the national Five-Point Programmatic Thrust: Economic Development, Physical and Mental Health, Educational Development, Political Awareness and Involvement, and International Awareness and Involvement.  We have a rich history of collective collaboration with the National Pan-Hellenic Council, and local civic and social organizations.  As we move Forward with Fortitude, we will continue to foster and sustain strong ties to our communities.
